The Creative Conversations series explores methods of communicating creatively, yet conversationally. This week, professional copywriter Anne McColl shares her secrets for crafting conversational copy for social media and beyond. Anne has worked with the likes of Turbo Tax, Bumble Bee Foods, WD-40 and Cricket Wireless to find the right words to tell their story and inspire people.
Last weekend, over 50,000 obsessed foodies descended upon the Food Network South Beach Wine and Food Festival in Miami. It was a star-studded occasion with celebrity chefs including Rachael Ray, Guy Fieri, and Emeril Lagasse.
Evian was a Gold Sponsor of the event. And while they had a presence at the event with a booth, they expanded the experience by turning their Twitter account over to an illustrator for the weekend.
Sure, I’ve heard of live tweeting before, but I’ve never seen an illustrator covering an event via Twitter. Accompanied by friendly conversational copy, the illustrations took live tweeting way beyond 140 characters into something very memorable and pass-on-able. Leah Goren is a Brooklyn illustrator whose watercolors captured the sun-drenched appeal of South Beach. Her pictures received plenty of retweets and were displayed at the Evian booth during the event as well. Time for a Pinterest board perhaps?
